We loose chickens every year in late May through June. The coyotes are more on the prowl in the early summer. Must be a pup related thing. Keep your small pets close by this time of year. And know Coyote attacks on people are extremely rare. Since 3 million children are bitten by dogs every year, your small child is millions of times more likely to get hurt by the family pet than by a coyote.

Just today (17 Jun 09) my wife and our two little dogs were approached by a coyote near Hansen and Springridge, near the donkeys. She said it got within 15 feet but eventually went away. A bit later on their walk, in the unfinished development, were surprised that the coyote was still following them. Then again it disappeared.
